The Gaston Companies’ family-owned and operated legacy began in the summer of 1972 when Gaston’s Tree Service started business in North Central Florida.
By the early 1980s, Gaston’s Tree Service generated a substantial amount of tree debris daily and was forced to dispose of the debris – an approach that was inexpensive at the time.
Following a state mandate in 1985 that vegetation could no longer be dumped into Florida landfills, Gaston Tree Debris Recycling (GTDR) began operations by starting the process of permitting the very first tree, yard, and land clearing debris recycling center in the state of Florida.

Giving Tree Debris New Purpose
From its humble beginnings, Gaston’s Tree Debris Recycling has since recycled millions of tons of vegetative debris around the country. We provide tree debris pickup and removal services and yard waste disposal at many locations throughout the state. In addition to green waste removal, our teams and equipment have provided valuable emergency services for major storms as far west as Oklahoma and along the east coast from the Florida Keys all the way to New York.
The byproduct of this tree debris is then turned into premium mulch, chips, or soil sold in bulk through Gaston Mulch and Soil, completing a full circle process that returns the tree debris into valuable landscape materials or a renewable energy resource.
